~!~ Are You Lonely ?? ~!~

Recently, I got an opportunity to be out of my home for two months; in Pune. During these two months, I got a chance to experience a different side of life.

You must be wondering, aren't these words "different side of life" confusing or meaningless or to which side of life they refer to ? Well, this side of life is LONELINESS or BEING ALONE.

When I was in Pune for those two months, most of the people I came across led me to deep thinking that how loneliness has damaged or damaging their lives.

Most of the people whom I came across were my room-mates, who are away from their homes for quite a long time. I felt that most of them have become WEAK. I call them "WEAK" not because they are physically weak, but they have become weak "EMOTIONALLY". The reason for their weakness is that they are not able to cope up with their long loneliness.

These people have left their homes from the time they started pursuing their higher studies and afterwards due to employment didn't get back to their families again.

Being away from their families or loved ones for so long, tends to distract them towards short term relationships, bad peer group, drinking and other bad "habbits"; which instead of decreasing their loneliness rather increases it.

I use the word "habbit" just to explain that people start with these activities casually or for experimentation, to get rid of their loneliness, but in due course of time; get stick to them and experiments become their habbits.

It is a human tendency that once you are alone, you tend to experiment with the things or activities which are easy going or available without much restriction.

It is really not easy to deal with the phase of loneliness, but one who can sail away in this tough time becomes real masters of life. It requires strong will power, continuous support from families or someone with whom you can share your feelings or thoughts..

Human beings are social animals which means that they need to be someone with whom they can share their thoughts, feelings an interact; otherwise the consequenses can be very damaging.

It cannot be commented over here that what can be done to get rid of this loneliness, as everyone's life is different and it needs tobe  left to the person only to decide. But it can be suggested that out of the many things needed to fill this gap of LONELINESS, some of them are TRUE LOVE, CARE and above all support of FAMILIES.

Friends, in this fast moving and dynamic world, do give a second and ask a question to yourself and your friends that ARE YOU LONELY ?

The Journey Continues ~!~ A Poem

~!~ Dreams With Wings ~!~ An Article

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source.

Delhi...The Metropolitan city, capital of India, city of dreams for many.

Well you would say that we have heard Mumbai as the city of dreams, but Delhi as city of dreams ??

Yes, for many people Delhi is the city of dreams. Well, it is the city of dreams for those who come to delhi for their livelihood.

These people are mainly from the northern states where the opportunities are less or we can say  provide no wings for these people to fly in this harsh economic society.

This sunday I got a chance to be in Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk. I had some work that allowed me to stay in the Purani Delhi for 1 hour.

I was in the car only, waiting for my mother to finish her work. I parked my vehicle in front of a closed shop. I was optimistic that I had parked my vehicle at the right place as there seemed no chance of shop in the front of which I have parked my car, to open.

After 15 minutes, an autorickshaw stopped in front of my car. At first sight it seemed to be a normal scenario. But within seconds a man with around 5feet 3inch height, having a small tummy, in his thirties, stepped out and started putting his belongings out the stone slab which was placed along the shutter of the closed shop.

Till now which seemed to be normal case of a person leaving his hired pay taxi, now started getting quite interesting. Now the real act started. He first of all placed a white rectangular box on top of the stone slab, which seemed to be his over the counter table. Then he placed a box containing almost all the brands of gutkas / pan masala, then came the beetle leaves / pan. On the string that hung on the shop wall, he placed some sachets of a poular washing powder; it can be taken that the local people working in the nearby dhabbas or rickshaw pullers must be buying those washing powder sachets from him regularly.

Within five minutes his basic shop was set up. But wait something was still left. He then place a rod to the sockets attached to his white counter table. On that rod he placed a canope / large umbrella to provide him the shade. As I was just thinking of any other advantages of that big branded umbrella, it started raining. And thus the use of that umbrella was clear to me now.

Friends, after reading the above description you would be thinking that what new story I have narrated you. There is only one new thing in this incident and that is this man's DREAM.

Similar to this guy many people come to delhi in search of employment opportunities. Most of these people are illiterate and indulge in either physical works, such as carrying load or opening a pan cabin, many you can find on the traffic signals selling show pieces or books and find shelter generally on footpaths or railway stations.

These people have some dreams in their eyes when they come to this city from their home town; which often are small villages or districts, i.e they have to earn money in order to sustain their families which they have left back at their home.

Next time you see such a pan wala bhaiya, just spare a minute or even seconds to think about the dreams with wings that are ready to fly in the eyes of these people.

We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving. And we all have some power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing.

~!~ Learning From Mistakes...~!~

This is a story about a famous research scientist who had made several very important medical breakthroughs. He was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter who asked him why he thought he was able to be so much more creative than the average person. What set him so far apart from others ?
He responded that, in his opinion, it all came from an experience with his mother that occurred when he was about two years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle and it fell, spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor a veritable sea of milk !

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him, giving him a lecture, or punishing him, she said, Robert, I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up ? Indeed, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that ? We could use a sponge, a towel, or a mop. Which do you prefer ? He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let’s go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it. The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it.

What a wonderful lesson ! This renowned scientist then remarked that it was at that moment that he knew he didn’t need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about.

Even if the experiment doesn’t work, we usually learn something valuable from it. Make mistakes, you learn from them . . . . but never repeat mistakes.

~!~ A Beautiful Letter From A Father ~!~

Following is a letter to his son from a renown Hong Kong TV broadcaster cum Child  Psychologist. The words are actually applicable to all of us, young or old, children or  parents.!

I am writing this to you because of 3  reasons

  1.    Life, fortune and mishaps are unpredictable, nobody  knows how long he lives. Some words are better said early.

  2.    I am your father, and if I don't tell you these, no one else will.

  3.   What is written is my own personal bitter experiences that perhaps could save you a lot of unnecessary heartaches.

Remember the following as you go through life

1.   Do not bear grudge towards those who are not good to you. No one has the responsibility of treating you well, except your mother and I. To those who are good to you, you have to treasure it and be thankful, and ALSO you have to be cautious, because, everyone has a motive for every move. When a person is good to you, it does not mean he really likes you. You have to be  careful, don't hastily regard him as a real friend.

2.  No one is  indispensable, nothing in the world that you must possess. Once you understand this idea, it would be easier for you to go through life when people around you don't want you anymore, or when you lose what/who you love most.

3.  Life is short. When you waste your life today, tomorrow you would find that life is leaving you. The earlier you treasure your life, the better you enjoy life.

4.  Love is but a transient feeling, and this feeling would fade with time and with one's mood. If your so called loved one leaves you, be patient, time will wash away your aches and sadness. Don't over exaggerate the beauty and sweetness of love, and don't over exaggerate the sadness of falling out of  love.

5. A lot of successful  people did not receive a good education, that does not mean that you can be successful by not studying hard! Whatever knowledge you gain is your weapon in life. One can go from rags to riches, but one has to start from some  rags!

6. I do not expect you to financially support me when I am old, neither would I financially support you for whole life. My responsibility as a supporter ends when you are grown up. After that, you decide whether you want to travel in a public transport or in your limousine, whether rich or poor.

7.  You honour your words, but don't expect others to be so. You can be good to people, but don't expect people to be good to you. If you don't understand this, you would end up with unnecessary troubles.

8.  I have bought lotteries for umpteen years, but I never strike any prize. That shows if you want to be rich, you have to  work hard! There is no free lunch!

9.  No matter how much time I have with you, let's  treasure the time we have together. We do not know if we would meet again in our next  life.

Your  Dad.

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source.

A Poem

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source.

THE STORY OF LIFE ....??

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger) but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience help to create who you become.

Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

Make every day count! Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets

*MOST IMPORTANTLY!*

If you LOVE someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store!

Emotions Are A Part Of Life

Emotions Are A Part Of Life

Life is like an unsolved puzzle.

No one can define what life is because it is a very complex thing.

Life is something that makes you happy and proud at times and

makes you feel so low at times that you say to yourself,

"Why was I born?"

But whatever it is, it is real fun.

In Life, in every moment, something new happens; something that

you never expected, something that you were waiting from a long while

to happen and something you were expecting to happen.

It is a combination of happiness, sorrow, joy, love, anger, enjoyment,

loneliness, fear, excitement and many other emotions.

The definition of the word life can't be completed

without using the word emotions.

Some people work in emotions whereas others work with emotions.

So it's very important to understand how people are using their emotions.

If they are letting emotions get control over them,

then they'll be dragged by others and situations all the time.

But, if he is controlling his emotions in a proper way,

then no one will ever have control over him.

The way a person uses his emotions is what we call attitude.

Someone has correctly said, "Your attitude determines your altitude in life".

Attitude, as I already defined, is the way an individual uses

his emotions and directly related to the psyche of a person.

Some people use their emotions in a positive way

and some people do it in a negative sense.

When people use emotions in a positive way we call it positive attitude

and when they use it in a negative way we call it negative attitude.

It's up to an individual to decide how he uses his emotions.

Which way will you decide ?

<< A Call To NGOs For Cause Of Humanity >>

<<<< A Call To NGOs for Cause Of Humanity >>>>

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source. I am not writing this article to criticize anyone or any organization but to bring the common problems, existing in our day to day life in front.

11th May, 2010

Around 8:45 PM our cab was passing through the route that connects Raj Ghat to Kashmere Gate. As soon as we touched the area around ISBT, I could see a number of homeless people on the divider of the road. At the first instance, it seemed that they were sleeping, but as we move forward; the entire scene got cleared. My eyes caught a person, who was injecting drug into another person, with a syringe. Drugs are taken by these people generally to kill their hunger and to get rid of all the day to day basic problems. Once the drug goes inside, they are not aware what is happening around them and they live in their own addiction world.

By taking drugs, they are facing problems such as:

1. They are getting drug addicted day by day.
2. The use of disinfected and unhygiene syringes increases the risk of blood transmission diseases such as  HIV.

I would like to appeal NGOs in New Delhi, who are involved in taking care of such people to help them. These people need shelter, food and a proper drug rehabilitation program to help them live a normal life again. These people are a part of our society and we cannot neglect them.

As I am not in contact with any such NGO directly, so making a public appeal. If you have queries, please leave a message on my blog.

I think that is a much greater hunger,

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source.

Disclaimer: Below thoughts are purely mine and have not been taken from a site or any other source.

A Poem written by me:: An ATTEMPT :)

 यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;

     यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;
      तुम  भी  कभी  नादान  थे ,
       इस  दुनिया  से  अनजान  थे |
         तुम्हें  न  कुछ  लेना -देना  था ,
         बस  अपने  ही  बचपन  मैं  जीना  था  |

    यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;
      तुम्हारे  भी  कुछ  सपने  थे .
     उड़ना  तुम  भी  चाहते  थे ,
     पर  पंख  नहीं  मिल  पाते  थे |
      अगर  पंख  मिल  जाते ,
      तो  तुम  भी  चिड़िया  बन  पाते |

    यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;

     यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;
      खेल  को  ही  जीवन  समझते  थे ,
      दोस्तों  के  साथ  तुम  जब  खेलते  थे |
         जब  अपने  आप  को  खेल  की  दुनिया  मैं  पाते |

     यादें  एक  दिन  कहती  हैं ;
    ABCD मैं तुम अच्छे थे ,
    लेकिन अ, आ, ई से डरते थे |
        Grammar के तुम चेम्पियन थे ,
      पर व्याकरण से दूर भगते थे |

~!!~ RARE INDIAN PICTURES ~!!~

~~Below are some of the rare photographs from the time of India and Pakistan partition.~~

1).  Nehru and Gandhi at AICC meeting, July 1946

2). Direct Action Day: Calcutta, Aug.16, 1946.

3). Mountbatten arrives at Delhi airport; received by Nehru and Liaquat Ali. March 25, 1947

4). Aug. 15, 1947: Mountbatten swears Nehru in as Prime Minister of India

5). TRAIN TO PAKISTAN; India 1947. Trains packed with refugees - Hindus and Sikhs headed for India, and Muslims headed for Pakistan - were convenient targets for gangs of killers on both sides of the border. Inadequately protected 'Refugee Specials' were typically stopped, and the occupants butchered, several times in the course of the journey.

6). The dead - Punjab, 1947

7). Ghandhiji Addressing people

8). 1948: The news of Gandhi's assassination hits the streets. A stunned crowd gathers in Calcutta.

9). 1948: Crowds in New Delhi wait for a glimpse of Gandhi's funeral procession.

10). 1971: Indira Gandhi reviews the troops, in the context of militaryand diplomatic preparations for the Bangladesh War.

11). A Library being divided at the time of partition. My heart trembles to see this sight and it is tough to imagine the state of the nation at the moment when people needed to hold hands.

~!!!!~ LET ME SURVIVE......... PLEASE ~!!!!~

On the long stretch of ITO Flyover, that leads Delhi people towards Rajghat; a bike stops and a poor boy approaches towards the bike. The man on the bike asks the boy to take the packet from him and drop the contents in the YAMUNA. Normally, the contents are the Pooja samagri, flowers that have been already offered to god contained in polythene bags, generally. The poor, deprived of knowledge also drops the polythene bags in river. Sometimes in fun also, people drop things in river.

Hi, I am YAMUNA, yes delhi's river yamuna and this is my story. Like river Thames in england, I also carry out my journey in the midst of Delhi city. But in this journey, I am getting polluted day by day. and this pollution has posed a question for my survival. At one end, a campaign has been launched by Sri Sri Ravishankar to clean and save me and on the other end delhi people are making me dirty, as stated in above incident. I have been considered a pride of Delhi for many years and today my survival is in danger.

Let's see how I am getting polluted.

1. The plastic bags which people drop are non-renewable and keep on lying on my river bed. These polythene bags release chemicals in water, which are harmful for aquatic life, living in me and make my water polluted also. As these bags stops the incoming oxygen in river, hence the aquatic life gets deprieved of oxygen.

2. People living on my bank also use me for bathing and cleaning purposes, that also adds to my misery.
3. Another problem is the narrowing of my river bed. Due to the rapid urbanization of Delhi, my river bed has been narrowed down. This narrowing of my river bed has made my journey more difficult.
4. The sewage drainage from various areas is also dumped in my water.

Problems are many, but they do have solutions also. Following these steps can help to save me :

1. The people of Delhi need to understand that I am not a dumping ground, into which they can dump anything. Generally, people drop things such as flowers, that have been offered to god. People should realize that by doing so, they are polluting me. Instead of dropping these things in me, they can bury these things in earth / soil. The basic aim is that these things should not be misplaced here and there. By burying them in soil the aim will be fulfilled and I will be saved from pollution.
2. The government should try to remove the urbanization situated on my bank.

3. Government should take measures to restrict the access to my banks / bed by putting fences on the exposed areas to my bed / banks.

4. Nukkad Nataks can also be organized by NGOs, emphasizing on my importance and steps to save me.

5. An Ad campaign can also be launched giving information to saving me.

6. The government should keep a check on the sewages which are being dumped in me.
7. The awareness should be spread among the citizens of Delhi, that I am pride of Delhi and not the dumping ground. It should be the civic duty of all Delhi people to save me and keep my purity intact, otherwise I would lose my purity. The government has taken many steps to save me; like creating fences, putting awareness messages; but they have not been effective.
8. Media in today's time is playing a very big role in spreading messages. I would like to request media people and organizations to focus on this issue and spread the awareness of saving me.

I am the water source of Delhi and if anything wrong happens to me, the people of delhi will also suffer in turn.

Finally, I would like to say that it should be a collective responsibility of the government and citizens of Delhi to save me and help me to survive. A lot of campaigns have been done, a lot of posters have been published and put up on wall, but proper actions are still to come or missing.

I would like to request all readers of this blog to understand my value and spread the message of not polluting me. A lot damage has been done, but you can control the further damage.
If you have any idea or thought to save me, do not hesitate to write here.
